Messy Church is a way of being church for families and others. It is Christ-centred, for all ages, based on creativity, hospitality and celebration.

Messy Church in Troon is an initiative of Troon Churches Together and involves Troon Church of Scotland, St Ninian’s Scottish Episcopal Church and Our Lady of the Assumption and St Meddan.

Messy Church welcomes children of any age, with their parents or carers. The team have been delighted to welcome new families and their parents.

Every area’s Messy Church runs slightly differently but all include Bible teaching, crafts and hospitality.

Messy Church ran very successfully in Troon for many years until Lockdown, and has recently restarted with renewed vigour and some changes to arrangements.

In a change to timing and place, Messy Church now meets 3:30pm to 5:30pm on the first Friday of the month. The group has chosen to meet in Troon Church of Scotland St Meddan’s sanctuary (at the corner of Church Street and St Meddan’s Street) due to its proximity to the local schools and availability.

This does not mean it is staffed exclusively from TCofS though! The craft team and catering team are members from all the different churches, and new volunteers are always appreciated. This is an ideal opportunity to meet and work with others in our wider church family. Please do consider helping out. Messy Church meets around 10 times each year and you wouldn’t need to be available for every one.
