Portland, St Meddan’s and Troon Old Parish Churches are uniting to form the new Troon Church of Scotland. The process will take some time to complete, but one of the first tangible changes is that the three congregations will be sharing worship on the second Sunday of every month, starting on 13th August 2023.
Although the three congregations have shared worship recently, the 13th August 2023 will be special because it’s the first time they will meet – informally at this stage – as Troon Church of Scotland.
Troon Church of Scotland will officially come into existence when the three churches unite in due course. Teams from each of the three congregations are continuing to work with Presbytery to prepare the formal Basis of Union.
Sunday morning worship on 13th August will take place in Portland Parish Church.
